Andrew was educated at Matlock before attending the University of Aberdeen where he earned an MA in Politics and International Relations before attending Chester Law School and joining Flint Bishop in 1990.
With a background in litigation and employment law, he now specializes in licensing – acting for a number of national and regional operators of pubs, clubs, hotels and restaurants.
Andrew is a Derbyshire Deputy Lieutenant and Under Derbyshire Sheriff. He is also a director of the Hubbub Theater Company, a Fellow of the Derbyshire Foundation and a member of the Derbyshire Brain Game Organizing Committee. He is a past president of the Derby and District Law Society.
He said: “Derby College Group is an important community asset and its continued strong performance is essential in providing young people with the tools they need to find secure, well-paying jobs.
“I am committed to ensuring that DCG continues to meet the skills needs of the local economy and, in doing so, provide secure and well-paying employment opportunities for young people in our region.
“Furthermore, with the accumulation of economic clouds, the potential impact on the job market means that colleges like ours will play an increasingly important role in retraining people for new careers.”
