However, the group’s advertising of their services may raise some eyebrows.

According to an archive from the firm’s now-deleted website, the Marlinga Law Group claimed that “in many cases” of child sexual abuse or criminal sexual behavior with a minor, “authorities conduct and manipulate children so that they make incriminating statements that may reflect nothing more than the child’s desire to please an important adult.”

“With the help of child psychologists and behavioral experts, we show how this process can skew the entire investigation,” the website says.

“Any responsible criminal lawyer prepares his client for the possibility of a conviction at trial, and so do we. your favor are presented and considered before sentencing,” the website continues.

“In a recent case, our hard work in the sentencing phase resulted in a sharp drop from the minimum guidelines of seven years to a sentence of only one year, to run concurrently with a sentence that our client was already serving for a prior offense.”

When it comes to internet sex crimesthe Marlinga Law Group also announced that, “in order to reduce discomfort or negative impressions about the charges at issue”, the firm’s “attorneys hire psychologists and other experts familiar with sex addictions and the reasons why otherwise honest community members may find themselves watching pornography.”

“We also take care to present all relevant facts to our client’s case: is there a history of sexual abuse in your family? Divorce? Drug use? Use of prescription psychotropic drugs?” the website continued.

Additionally, the criminal defense firm announced that, “in developing a consent defense in an acquaintance or acquaintance rape situation,” its attorneys would “use a prominent psychologist to examine the complainant witness prior to court case”.

“Our expert’s findings may very well point to personality characteristics of the alleged victim that led to the charge of rape, or denial of consent, in circumstances for which the accused cannot be held responsible,” indicates the website. “Equally important, our experience with presenting such evidence clearly at trial helps ensure that the jury hears your side of the story at its most compelling.”

Marlinga was a former Macomb County judge and prosecutor, stepping down as prosecutor after being charged and acquitted on corruption allegations.

The race is likely a Republican takeover as James and Marlinga face off, putting the former Democratic judge in a tight spot for a year in favor of the GOP.

Marlinga’s campaign did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
