Promotions and New Hires at Gibson Kerr Law Firm

RENOWNED law firm Gibson Kerr has strengthened its teams across the company with a series of appointments and promotions.

Among these is the advancement to one of Scotland’s most qualified family solicitors, with Nadine Martin promoted to partner.

As well as being the first and only solicitor in Scotland to be an Accredited Specialist in Family Law, Children’s Law, Family Law Mediation and a Certified Specialist in Trauma-Informed Practice, Nadine is also trained in collaborative practice and has impressed since joining the firm in July 2021. .

Her practice encompasses all areas of family and children’s law, including separation, divorce, financial arrangements, residence and contact disputes, and the relocation of children. An adept negotiator, Nadine is also a tenacious litigator and regularly appears before the Sheriff Courts and conducts divorce litigation before the Court of Session. She is frequently trained in mediation work across Scotland.

Nadine is a supporter of trauma-informed law and works with the Law Society of Scotland to deliver specialist certification in trauma-informed practice to lawyers across Scotland.

Outside of work Nadine is a trustee on the board of Glasgow East Women’s Aid which supports women, children and young people who are victims of domestic violence. She volunteers for the Scottish Child Law Centre. She is a board member of CALM Mediation Scotland and Consensus Collaboration Scotland, both of which work to promote alternative forms of dispute resolution in Scotland.

Experienced real estate lawyer Donald Towsey has joined McDougall McQueen’s firm and will focus on conveyancing, while Nikki Lemon is taking on a paralegal role within the real estate department.

Internal promotions include Stuart Millar as Senior Partner, Katie Marshall as Senior Counsel and Rhian Mackay as Paralegal in Gibson Kerr’s highly respected Personal Law Unit. Stuart and Katie specialize in all aspects of wills, powers of attorney and estates and are both Fellows of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
