Global CFO Uma Reddy has been named the new CFO of Honigman LLP, a Michigan-based law firm that employs more than 300 attorneys.
Reddy will assume financial and reporting roles previously held by former chief operating officer Robert Kubic, who retired this year, Honigman said in a press release.
Reddy will be based in Detroit, although Honigman has expanded its offices across Michigan to include offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
“As a recognized thought leader in driving diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, we look forward to harnessing his hard-earned perspective to help shape the future of our firm to bring about positive change in our legal industry,” Honigman’s CEO said. and Chairman David Foltyn said in the statement.
Most recently, Reddy served as executive vice president and general manager of global finance for WPP’s VMLYR agency in Dearborn, where she streamlined and strengthened operating companies, according to the release.
Reddy is also the founder of Ashray Akruiti – USA, a nonprofit group focused on improving the lives of people with disabilities and marginalized sections of society, the statement said. Reddy was honored by Bill Gates Sr., father of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, with the Global Social Entrepreneurship Award for her innovative ideas to combat hearing loss. She also received the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance Award and WPP’s Winning Women Award for her contributions and leadership.
Reddy started his career as a finance executive for PricewaterhouseCoopers in India before becoming a senior manager for risk finance, accounting and financial reporting and capital planning for Ally Financial in Detroit.
Reddy received his MBA from the University of Michigan; she is also a Chartered Public Accountant, Chartered Chartered Accountant and Chartered Cost Accountant.
